Viola Ellis Carson passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2023 in Green River, Wyoming at the age of 93 with her family by her side.

Viola was born in Rigby, Idaho on December 16, 1929 to Fredrick and Mable Ellis.

She married Jay F. Carson on August 20, 1947. They had been married 60 years at the time Jay passed away in 2008. She lived in McGill, Nevada for 74 years.

VIola was a homemaker her whole married life. Her hobbies were cutting hair for family and friends, crocheting, going out into the mountains picking pine nuts and berries, (she would make jam or jelly with the berries,) finding the perfect Christmas tree and working in her yard. She had many compliments on how pretty her yard was. Viola baked bread once a week, made pineapple cookies that her whole family loved. Made turkey soup after thanksgiving with homemade noodles and her amazing homemade rolls (they were the best ever). She also made the perfect pot roast. Viola cared for many widow ladies that lived in her neighborhood. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Viola loved her sewing club that was made up of the Rebekah Lodge. Viola loved her family. She was very close to her twin sister Rayola. She lived a wonderful full life.

Viola was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Viola and Jay were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on October 25, 1997.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick and Mable Ellis, her husband Jay F. Carson, daughter Sharon Sue Carson, one grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother and 3 sisters.

VIola is survived by her twin sister Rayola Richardson of Holladay, Utah, daughter Linda (Terry) Bradshaw of Green River, Wyomein, son Jack (Sheila) Carson of Green River, Wyoming, son Kevin (Lori) Carson of McGill, Nevada, 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held August 23, 2023 at the Ely Nevada Cemetery at 11:00a.m., followed by a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in McGill, Nevada.
